My pots are the conduit to understanding pottery as "a living tradition," a concept first espoused in literature by T.S. Eliot in 1919.

It involves a perception of an historical sense of the timeless and the temporal together, and to create not merely in one's own generation but with a feeling for that which has come from before.

My attention is to peasant pots and the Michael Cardew notion of "the Majesty of Form." I believe the pot has a voice when glaze and form are in balance and not overwhelmed by special effects.
