JudithTaïr (fashion designer) and Philippe Mercier (art director) were married in 1976 and created Taïr Mercier in 1979. In September of 1979 they rented a booth in the best show in Paris "Moving", and presented their frist paper place mats collection. Discovering the Polypropylen in 1982, they worked on a new collection that was immediatly bought by the San Francisco Art museum and the best design shops in the USA, Japan, the Netherlands, and France. "Ac.cent on Design" Opened in 1984 on the Manhatten piers with a few exhibitors and Taïr Mercier. Two times a year, Taïr Mercier presents new items sold in the best places in the world, the MoMa in New York, Axis in Tokyo, Life Shop in Singapore, The Museum of Contemporary Art in Denmark, Interio in Switzerland, Lane Crawford in Hong Kong, Arango in Miami, Kitchen Bazarr in Paris... etc... etc......
